John Hicks built TimeAtlas as a free app. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.

Information Collection and Use

TimeAtlas does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data stays on your device.

Location Data

TimeAtlas requests access to your device's location solely to detect your current city and time zone. This location data is:

• Processed entirely on your device
• Never transmitted to any external server
• Never shared with third parties
• Stored locally only to remember your last known city between app sessions

You can deny location access at any time through your device's Settings. The app will continue to function — you can manually select your home city instead.

Locally Stored Data

The app stores the following on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults):

• Your saved list of cities and their time zones
• Your last known location (city name and coordinates)
• Your display preferences (24-hour format, timezone label visibility)

This data never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

TimeAtlas uses Apple's MapKit framework to power city search. Search queries are sent to Apple's servers and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

No other third-party services, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks are used.

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

TimeAtlas does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

Any updates to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page with a revised date.
